Juventus suits for RVP

Arsenal sensational forward, Robin Van Persie is the latest player seeking exit to revive his career after refused to extend his contract recently. The striker quoted the club do not shares his ambitions for future.

I want bigger trophy
The biggest question is "Is it the best decision?"

The 28 years old skipper has been outstanding last season scoring 37 goals in 48 appearances or Arsenal. That outstanding performance awarded him PFA Player of 2011-2012 season.
Van Persie was utilised mainly as a second striker, and occasionally out on the wing, in the early stages of his Gunners career after being signed by manager Arsene Wenger from Feyenoord in 2004.

But he has flourished since switching to the centre-forward role - despite initially not having been convinced he could make the transition.Despite struggling for injuries, RVP still dangerous inside penalty box provided vital goals for The Gunners.

But sadly, it has been  eight years since Arsenal last lifted silverware and Smith, who won two league titles with the Gunners and this situation is not that good for a players who reached his peak.

The Dutchman needs for a stronger team that hunger for a title such as Juventus F.C who currently in a good shape and consist of talented players included in Italian team for Euro 2012.

Juventus formation
Juventus preferred 4-1-2-3 formation with Andrea Pirlo acting as deep playmaker dictates midfield providing passes to forward. The only thing Juventus lack is striker ability in scoring goal. RVP positioning inside penalty box provides a option for Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal for passes. The Arsenal's striker ability in making powerful left footed shot definitely a threat for any goalkeeper.

His decision in making vital passes to winger as he did in Arsenal to Theo Walcott could be exploited to Juventus fast runner Pepe / Vucinic/ Krasic.

The Dutch quality in free kick and corner kick could provide extra option for Antonio Conte by putting Andrea Pirlo or Arturo Vidal outside penalty box during corner to making long shot.

Greatest penalty kick taker

Andrea Pirlo's classy penalty as Italy edged out England in the Euro 2012 quarter-final was a moment of magic that changed the tide of the shoot-out and helped the Azzurri progress to a semi-final against Germany.

The situation is almost the same as in European Championship 1967, Czechoslovakia faced Germany in final. The 120 minutes game tied for 2-2 and will be decided by penalty shootout. The magic moment comes as Uli Hoeneß, West Germany penalty taker blasted the ball pass crossbar gives Czecoslovakia advantage of 4-3.

Magic moment that adopted by world class players

Antonin Panenka step up as final kicker to leads his team for European glory. Then Czech placed the ball to the penalty spot and sprinted to make a shot. Instead of blasted the ball to the net, he calmly chipped the ball to the middle, sent West Germany's goalkeeper the wrong direction.

His brilliant penalty effort becomes famous making Panenka name synonymous to that penalty style. How on earth he managed to controlled his nerves to score in style fashion. He explained

"About two years before the European Championships I began trying it. At first I did it during friendly matches and then I did it once or twice during Czechoslovak league matches. It worked so well that I decided that I would use the technique if I got a penalty at the European Championships. Of course, it was pure chance that the opportunity came in the final after the Germans equalised in the last minute and then, when it went to penalties, the German player missed his kick before it was my turn. It was like the will of God. I was one thousand percent certain that I would take the penalty in that way and that I would score."

Footballer worst nightmare: Ligament tear

Knee anatomy, front view

Knee bones are connected to other bones by ligament. There are four primary ligaments build in knee. All of these elements act as rubber band to hold the bones together and keep knee stability.

Collateral Ligaments

These are found on the sides of your knee. The medial collateral ligament is on the inside and the lateral collateral ligament is on the outside. They control the sideways motion of your knee and brace it against unusual movement.

Cruciate Ligaments

These are found inside your knee joint. They cross each other to form an "X" with the anterior cruciate ligament in front and the posterior cruciate ligament in back. The cruciate ligaments control the back and forth motion of your knee.

The anterior cruciate ligament runs diagonally in the middle of the knee. It prevents the tibia from sliding out in front of the femur, as well as provides rotational stability to the knee.

Cause of injury in football

  • Sharp turning
Players 's foot is positioned firmly on the ground followed by the leg (and body for that matter) turning one direction or the other. In this position, the body weight is totally supported by standing leg.Slight contact on this leg could done serious damage to the ligament.
  • Straight knee landing

This results from improper landing after challenge for the ball in the air.During landing, knee's ligament need to support large force , function of body mass and acceleration.

  • One-step-stop landing with the knee hyperextended

This situation comes when the leg abruptly stops while in an over-straightened position.Example: Baseball player sliding into a base with the knee hyperextended with additional force upon hyperextension.

  • Pivoting and sudden deceleration

resulting from a combination of rapid slowing down and a plant and twist of the foot placing extreme rotation at the knee. Example: Football or soccer player quickly slowing down followed by a quick turn in direction.

Ronaldo is the famous "victim" of acl tear injury that push him to retired from professional football. He tears his knee's ligament three times during spell at Inter Milan (1997-2002) and AC Milan (2007-2008).

"About 40% of all individuals experience a "popping" sensation at the time of the injury, which is actually the tearing of the ligament tissue. At least half of all anterior ligament tears also cause injury to one of the menisci of the joint, which may also produce a tearing sensation"

Germany golden goal in 1996

German first Major title with unified nation
The "Golden Goal" does exist after all, to Germany's delight, though a doubt was raised with the linesman's flag in the arguable conclusion to the European Championship final on Sunday night.

Five minutes into extra time, the German substitute Oliver Bierhoff pivoted around the defender Miroslav Kadlec and rammed his second goal in 22 minutes through a pair of gloved hands held up as if confronted by a gun. The ball trickled just inside the goalkeeper's far left post to complete the 2-1 comeback victory over the underdog Czech Republic for Germany, its third European title overall — two more than any other country — and the first for Berti Vogts, the beleaguered coach who in that moment fell in step with his German predecessor legends.

As Bierhoff screamed, he didn't notice the orange flag of the Italian linesman Donato Nicoletti held up in silent veto. Neither did the Italian referee, Pierluigi Pairetto, not until the Czech coach Dusan Uhrin stood stubbornly alongside the linesman, whose flag had gone down in a stuttering moment of doubt before popping back up again. By now the penalty box was was littered with fallen Czech defenders as the referee grabbed the linesman and almost shook the truth out of him.

Yes, Stefan Kuntz, the German forward, had been offside.

No, the referee shouted with a Jackie-Gleasonish wave of his arms, Kuntz had not affected play.

"The referee ignored him," Uhrin said. "It's hard to say whether the result is fair, I'm not going to comment on this. But I will say it was a decent final."

"I don't know if it was offside or not," said the Czech goalkeeper Petr Kouba, who added that the shot had deflected off Michal Hornak, one of his defenders.

"But if the linesman has the flag up, then the referee should respect it," Kouba said.

Thus, anticlimactically, arrived the first "Golden Goal" of the tournament after four games decided unsatisfactorily by the penalty shootout.

The Germans, led by Matthias Sammer, who had a personal grievance with the same linesman over the 58th-minute penalty that had given the Czechs their opening lead, took off running toward Bierhoff, who for the moment of indecision had stood in the far corner as if woken from the most incredible dream.

Then he realized that the dream was real. Bierhoff is a striker for Udinese at the bottom of the Italian first division.

He had not played in two weeks, even as the pile-up of four German injuries and two suspensions had compelled the European federation UEFA to allow Vogts to flew in an emergency substitute, Jens Todt, from Germany on Saturday morning. Then, 21 minutes before a recreation of Czechoslovakia's 1976 European final upset of West Germany might have become complete, the unimpressive Bierhoff was being shouted on by Vogts to take the placethe midfielder Mehmet Scholl.

Four minutes later Bierhoff was scoring the goal that began to make a genius of Vogts. He headed in a long free kick from Christian Ziege, with Markus Babbel just behind, his arms spread in fending off two trailing Czech defenders.

Couldn't stop the powerful shot from Bierhoff

As the Germans were celebrating Sammer came running to the sideline, screaming himself red at the linesman Nicoletti for not having vetoed thepenaltykick awarded against Sammer 15 minutes earlier.

That movement began at midfield on the break by Pavel Kuka, the arrowhead of most of the Czech attacks. He was brought down with an apparent elbow to the cheek but not before releasing a long ball to Karel Poborsky, the man of the match and a faster man than Sammer, who tripped him one stride from the box.

The Czech fell into the box, long hair in his eyes, elbows first, and as theGermans argued against the penalty, one of the Czechs had run in and replaced the telltale divot just outside the box.

The penalty taken by Patrik Berger — a teammate of Sammer's on the German champion Borussia Dortmund — was positioned no better than one which had knocked England out of its semifinal against Germany four nights earlier.

But this one had steam behind it as it disappeared under Andreas Köpke's dive.

The capacity Wembley crowd had received the final optimistically, despite the absence of England from a game at the stadium for the first time in three weeks — but now most of them were cheering as if they were Czech.

Three weeks ago Germany had opened with a 2-0 victory over the Czechs, but as Vogts pointed out, the only German unavailable that day had been Jürgen Klinsmann.

All night the match had been striding forward, building on the first steps of the Germans — led, leadenly, by Klinsmann, a week after suffering a torn right calf muscle — who were left vulnerable to the counter-attacking Czechs.

Each missed opportunity was answered by the other side, from Rada's runs to the two chances missed point-blank in the first half by Klinsmann's partner Stefan Kuntz, as the energy and pace escalated all the while.

Au Revoir Les Tricolores

Laurent Blanc leaving Manager post last night results form France football team exit from Euro 2012. Didier Deschamps is the possible candidates that linked to take reins.

Deschamps would be the ideal choice to replace Blanc, having made no secret of his desire to coach France one day. He was France’s captain when it won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 the national team’s last major trophy and would be a popular choice.

Laurent Blanc in World Cup 1998
Laurent Blanc over from Raymond Domenech after France’s disastrous 2010 World Cup in South Africa when they crashed out in the group stage.
Blanc inherited a disunited group still smarting from their exit but managed to knit the team back together.
The coach had a multitude of stars at his command – including Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema – and the French were tipped as dark horses for the European title in Poland and Ukraine.
They came second in Group D behind England then went out with a whimper against Vicente del Bosque’s Spanish cracks.
And the tournament ended in shame when Samir Nasri launched a foul-mouthed tirade at a reporter.
A spokesman for the FFF said: “After a period of reflection Laurent Blanc contacted the President of the FFF, Noel Le Graet, to indicate his decision not to seek the renewal of his contract of national coach.
“Le Graet acknowledges and applauds Laurent’s work at the head of the France team since August 2010.
“The executive committee of the federation is meeting on Tuesday but no comments will be made by the FFF and its president before the press conference scheduled at the conclusion of this work session.”
Blanc played a couple of seasons for Manchester United in the early 2000s and is reported as being keen to return to club management.
Didier Deschamps is favourite to succeed him after he indicated he wants to leave Marseille.
